Internship
* What are you looking forward to most about your internship experience?
What I am looking forward to in internship is to gain experience and knowledge that will help me
later on accomplish whatever it is I want to study in the future. I want to learn how to interact better with younger kids and try to put a positive role model for them to follow and see what I am trying to do for them. I am really looking forward towards meeting all types of kids and getting to know them really good so that we could build trust and they could come to me whenever
they need any help.
* What are you most concerned about in your internship?
The thing that I am most concerned about in my internship is the way I will be received in King Chavez. I wonder if any of the students will like me because tomorrow is going to be literally the first day that I would be seeing the students that I will see for three weeks starting in January.
* What type of work do you plan to do, what are your hopes for your project, etc?
The type of work that I plan to do during my stay in King Chavez Elementary school would be to help out the teachers with the kids and try to help them with whatever they need help in. I also hope to work on a project that will not only help me gain something from my internship but also help the kids in King Chavez learn from what I have taught them.
* What are your goals for your site visit?
My goals that I have set for myself on my site visit tomorrow are the following. Be friendly and kind to the students weather they have a question or not. Be loud and clear whenever I respond to a question, and also be specific in every aspect of the answer. Ask thoughtful questions that relate to the schools way of teaching or helping the students. Have a big smile on my face the minute I walk in the classroom making the children feel comfortable with me observing them. I have set and hope to accomplish all of theses goals by the end of the day tomorrow. These goals will help me develop a better relationship with my mentor and other peers that I will be working with for the whole three weeks of January. I think that this site visit will help me introduce myself to the children and tell them what my intensions are with them and what I am here to help them with.
* What questions do you have about internship?
Some questions that I have for internship are the following. In what grade level will I be working
in? How many kids are going to be in a classroom? What type of help is going to be needed throughout my time interning? How many hours a day will I be working for? At what time am I going to start, and at what time do I end? All of these questions will be very helpful to be answered by tomorrow so that I could be ahead of schedule and know exactly what I need to start working on the very first day of internship.
